Oyster Holler is a not for profit social club. We act as a buying club on our local community's behalf. Our goal is to have and share the freshest oysters Chattanooga can get at an affordable pricing. We aim to place group orders between 6 and 12 times a year.
As a private buying club, Oyster Holler (Spencer and Sara) is not responsible for food allergies or illness. We do take pride and care of our group orders to ensure proper storage until your order is picked up.
Remember — we're doing this for fun! We look forward to meeting folks in our community and slurping some delicious seafood with you.
How it works
1) A farm is selected to purchase from.
2) We send out notifications to group members about an order date via social media.
3) You receive a Newsletter with an order form link via email.
— Information about the specific oyster and farm chosen provided.
4) We send out payment requests.
— Total price will include price of oysters, shipping, and small fee for materials to divide orders: ice, tape, etc.
5) We gather and shuck at a local spot, or you can opt for porch pick-up (located near Red Bank).
— Gathering spots might be a park, brewery or local business that wants to participate.
Shipping, pricing, choosing a farm
When choosing a farm to support, we take many factors into account: taste, farming practices, cost of shipping, price per oyster.
We aim to purchase oysters between $1 to $3 each which includes shipping costs.
We will order from the West Coast, East Coast and Florida so we can try all sorts!
Occasionally, we may offer group ordering for additional products a farm offers like mussels, clams, and caviar for an additional cost.
